 What is the CSC Scholarship?

The CSC Scholarship, administered by the China Scholarship Council, provides financial support to international students for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in Chinese universities. It aims to promote mutual understanding and foster educational exchange between China and other countries.​

 Benefits of the CSC Scholarship

Recipients of the CSC Scholarship enjoy comprehensive benefits:

  • Full Tuition Waiver: Covers all academic fees. 
  • Accommodation: Free on-campus housing or a monthly stipend for off-campus living. 
  • Monthly Stipend: 
    • Undergraduates: CNY 2,500 (~USD 350) 
    • Master’s students: CNY 3,000 (~USD 420) 
    • PhD students: CNY 3,500 (~USD 490)

 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the CSC Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Nationality: Be a non-Chinese citizen. 
  • Health: Be in good physical and mental health. 
  • Educational Background & Age: 
    • Undergraduate: High school diploma; under 25 years old. 
    • Master’s: Bachelor’s degree; under 35 years old. 
    • PhD: Master’s degree; under 40 years old. 
  • Language Proficiency: 
    • For Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 4 or 5. 
    • For English-taught programs: IELTS/TOEFL scores or an English proficiency certificate from previous institutions. 

Application Pathways

There are two primary channels to apply for the CSC Scholarship:​

  1. University Track (Type B) 
    • Apply directly to Chinese universities that offer CSC scholarships. 
    • Use the university’s agency number during the application. 
    • Suitable for students targeting specific institutions.​ 
  2. Embassy Track (Type A) 
    • Apply through the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. 
    • Ideal for applicants seeking broader opportunities across multiple universities.​ 

Note: Applicants can apply to multiple universities but can only accept one scholarship offer.

Required Documents

Prepare the following documents for your application:

  • Completed CSC Scholarship Application Form. 
  • Notarized highest degree certificate and academic transcripts. 
  • Study Plan or Research Proposal (minimum 800 words). 
  • Two Recommendation Letters from professors or associate professors. 
  • Valid Passport Copy. 
  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form. 
  • Language Proficiency Certificate (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, or English proficiency letter). 
  • Pre-admission Letter from a Chinese university (if available).
